The solution to the economic crisis

With all the doom-laden media braying constantly about our terrible economies it is easy to forget that our financial system is only one of many that have existed over time, some of which were very efficient at avoiding every one of the problems we are being submerged with – by design – today. A lot of people are working on extremely effective alternative financial systems, but unsurprisingly the Rothschild and Murdock owned press act as though they don’t exist, never report on them, and thus help maintain the terrible system their paymasters have put into place. The truth is the current system of international finance is an expensive farce that benefits a minute minority, and concentrates worldwide power in the most unsavoury hands known to mankind to the detriment of everyone and just about everything. Anyone who does not understand that has obviously not been living on the same planet as the rest of us the last few years – or prefers staying in a comfortable delusional state rather than accept the reality of the ridiculously wasteful and dehumanising systems inflicted on us increasingly every day. However, luckily there are plenty of brave individuals out there who have a total understanding of this and are doing their utmost to promote more equitable systems, despite being hindered at every stage by the financial oligarchy and the political minions who have allowed them to achieve such obscene levels of power.

Probably one of the most succinct and brilliant explanations of a tried and tested system that reintroduces fairness into the marketplace while at the same time stimulating hugely the economy and castrating the parasitic international banks, is that of soft-spoken monetary genius Richard Cook. His “Cook Plan” is the result of three decades of careful reflection while working in the heart of the White House treasury department, where he had a unique position to grasp the intricate workings of national and international finance.

His work is of striking pertinence today. He has reinforced each aspect with the help of a multitude of other economists and monetary reformers worldwide.

I strongly recommend watching this 2 hour series of videos where Richard Cook manages to condense two centuries of economic history, clear and concise explanations of many of the terms and mechanisms of economics that are essential but far too many people ignore, and finally explain the simplest, highly ethical solutions that would stop this entire artificial economic crisis – and the untold suffering associated with it – immediately. If you only want to put up with one economy lesson in your life – let it be this one !

It is divided into 6 parts each covering a high density of information, so try to find a moment when you are clear and focused to watch it. Then spread the video to anyone you know with half a brain, and start pestering your elected “representatives” to pass legislation that would rapidly transform society into a far more equitable place, at no cost except to faceless international institutions who would lose their ill-earned sinecure.

The plan was proposed to the G-20 a few years ago backed by the signatures of many prominent economists and was ignored, unsurprisingly.

The same thing happened when it was presented to the US congress.

It’s high time for a change. That change can only come from the people.

To think there are a number of alternative systems out there that are almost as good, and we have to put up with the current can of worms run by a small number of soulless yes-men and psychopaths for their selfish interests who are devouring the planet while doing their best to line their pockets with our collective futures.

It must be understood that there are monetary and economic systems that make the kind of rampant abuse prevailant today almost impossible. Here is one of them:

A few pertinent facts about Libya

There is so much contradictory stuff circulating about Libya and Qadaffi I think a few points are worth clarifying.

Libya under Qaddafi:

– The latest UN Human Rights Council report on Libya (issued just before the outbreak of hostilities) is glowing with praise for the country, and commends Libya’s government for improving human rights, educational opportunities and improving its “constitutional” framework

– Libya has more legal protections for its citizens than any other african or middle-eastern country

– An international delegation of medical professionals recently stated – in an appeal to Russian President Medvedev and Prime Minister Putin no less – that in their view there were few nations in which the people lived in such comfort. They asserted that “Libyans are entitled to free treatment, and their hospitals provide the best in the world of medical equipment. Education in Libya is free, capable young people have the opportunity to study abroad at government expense. When marrying, young couples receive 60,000 Libyan dinars (about 50,000 U.S. dollars) of financial assistance. Non-interest state loans, and as practice shows, undated. Due to government subsidies the price of cars is much lower than in Europe, and they are affordable for every family. Gasoline and bread cost a penny, no taxes for those who are engaged in agriculture. The Libyan people are quiet and peaceful, are not inclined to drink, and are very religious.”

– Today, Libya ranks 53 on the UN Human Development Index and qualifies as the most developed country in Africa, ahead of Russia, Brazil, Ukraine, and Venezuela.

– Qadaffi’s most ambitious project, costing $33 billion, is the largest and most ambitious – and expensive – irrigation project in the world. It has taken decades to complete, and was financed with no help from the international community or banks. The Great Man-Made River project provides 70% of Libyans with water for drinking and irrigation pumped from the huge Nubian Sandstone Aquifer system in the south all the way to coastal areas 4000 km to the north. Qadaffi has intended for years that Libya become the bread basket of the region, providing food and water to surrounding countries to eliminate their dependency on western imports and aid, provoking a major regional economic boom

– The central Bank of Libya provides interest free loans, complying with the tenets of Islam, thus stimulating local entrepreneurs and businesses. It manages all loans, and issues and regulates the Libyan money supply. Because eliminating interest has been shown to reduce the cost of public projects by an average of 50%, Libya has been able to build its education system and state-of-the-art medical care, and achieve many other projects for the public good. For the same reasons it has almost no foreign debt, and thus total financial independance from the western banking oligarchy. Libya has large gold reserves, in addition to the oil money in foreign banks currently blocked by the UN coalition and now destined to finance the “rebels”.

– Women have a far better status than in most other Muslim countries. Qadaffi decided to create a personal military guard comprised only of highly trained women – mainly in order to make a point to the more mysogynistic Islamic hard-liners…

– Entirely in contradiction with heavily biased western media reports, Qadaffi is adored as an idol by the vast majority of his people (with the exception of Salafi Islamist fundamentalists and eastern clans that lost power to Qadaffi’s regime) quite simply because under his strong leadership their lives have improved tremendously compared to their experience under previous regimes.

– The first person to issue an international arrest warrant for Osama Bin Laden was Qadaffi, years before 9/11.

– Libya has been the most persistant fighter against terrorism in the entire Arab world, arresting more extremist Muslim terrorists than just about any other country over the last few years. Libya has been commended by both Washington and the FBI numerous times in recent years for its help fighting terrorism.

– Qaddafi has accepted the African Union proposition for a roadmap to peace in Libya. This has been pretty much ignored by western media.

Libya’s “rebels”:

– Unlike all the other regional uprisings defined overwhelmingly through peaceful marches by non-violent protesters, in Libya the insurgency kicked off in Benghazi with violent assaults on police stations, army barracks and armories. Contrary to western media reports, the insurgents commenced hostilities. There were no peaceful marches.

– For years Benghazi has been a hotbed of the most violent factions of Islamic extremism. A 2007 West Point study shows that during the Iraq war, the Benghazi-Darnah-Tobruk area supplied more Jihadi fighters per capita to battle coalition forces in Iraq than any other area. In fact the Benghazi-Tobruk corridor was described as “a world leader in Al Qaeda suicide bomber recruitment”. These extremists form the backbone of the”rebel” elements.

– One of the first actions of the “rebels” was to create a new central bank for Libya and the “Libyan Oil Company” a “supervisory authority on oil production”, based in Benghazi – barely 48 hours after the UN decided on the “no-fly zone” . CNBC senior editor John Carney asked, “Is this the first time a revolutionary group has created a central bank while it is still in the midst of fighting the entrenched political power? It certainly seems to indicate how extraordinarily powerful central bankers have become in our era.”

– It appears that most of the supposedly “first hand” media reports about Libya actually emanate from the the National Conference of the Libyan Opposition (NCLO) in Washington and Dubai. These unverified reports have become the basis for accusations of “genocide”, economic sanctions, and enforced “no-fly zones”.

– The “rebels” have been accused of indiscriminate killings, beheadings and witch-hunts, as well as the persecution and murder of many black africans and other foreigners attempting to leave Libya.

– The “rebellion” is being directed from Washington by Ibrahim Sahad of the NFSL. The NFSL was formed in London in 2005

Confused ? Maybe this very short video will help explain this insanity:

A couple of very good articles from activist post explaining the reasoning behind the attack on Libya by the western globalist oligarchy:

http://www.activistpost.com/2011/02/brookings-institute-which-path-to.html

http://www.activistpost.com/2011/05/which-path-to-persia-redux.html

I am not even going to go into other aspects (maybe later), like the huge amounts of radioactive depleted uranium used by NATO in their munitions that have already turned Iraq into a country overwhelmed by cancer and birth defects and are primed to do the same in Libya in the name of “fighting tyranny”…

My prayers are with the people of Libya. May they find peace and justice.

Tasers are cattle-prods applied to the human spirit

Tasers are weapons that function by delivering a huge electric shock directly to the nervous system of their target, producing temporary paralysis, convulsions, extreme pain and sometimes death.

Every day now images and testimonies appear on the internet detailing the prolific routine use of this new “non-lethal” weapon by law enforcement on citizens, a tiny percentage of whom appear to be actually caught in the process of committing a crime. These weapons have been used on children running away from their parents, old age pensioners confined to their beds, people who have been a bit slow to show their ID cards, legitimate protesters against government and financial abuse of power, and in numerous cases have resulted in the deaths of their targets, despite their supposed “non-lethality”.

The most ancient legal systems in human history were based on the concept of “doing no harm” to one’s neighbor. These principles have followed us through the ages up to the present time, where differences between people are resolved in courts of law, with more or less neutral parties representing the interests of the accused and the victim.

How is it that in most purportedly civilized and democratic countries, police can now legally inflict unbearable traumatic pain with impunity on anyone, merely on suspicion of having committed a crime ? This dreadful taser weapon – a glorified cattle-prod for humans – was introduced first in the US a few years ago, and has spread to most supposedly democratic countries since, with no real public debate at all. Governments have seized the right to torture their own citizens in a way that reminds me of policing techniques in the middle ages, where people were routinely tortured on suspicion of wrong-doing.

Most legal systems would rightfully condemn a citizen inflicting extreme pain and mental trauma on another citizen. So how come police – who supposedly represent Law and Order – may now inflict this physical and psychological pain on almost anyone with the flimsiest of justifications and almost no legal repercussions ? Numerous people have been tasered in western countries for merely raising their voice in front of authority or acting agitated ! Not being a zombie, I find it natural to be agitated when faced by a man in uniform aiming a weapon at me that if I am lucky will put me through moments of paralysis and agony even if it does not kill me, and leave an imprint of powerlessness, trauma and total loss of human dignity on my spirit for my entire life afterwards.

Strangely, traveling around countries with more or less totalitarian regimes in Asia I have never seen police even carrying this weapon, let alone using it ! They would not dare… It would not be accepted by the local inhabitants and any public use of such a weapon would be condemned by the population at large instantly, especially in Buddhist countries where inflicting pain amounts to a cultural taboo – for good reason.

So how have we come to accept as normal, in our “civilized” western countries that pretend to place so much importance in “spreading democracy” and human rights, the routine use of a weapon that is such a direct assault on human dignity ? Is this just one more demonstration of our governments transforming into brutal desensitized psychopathic institutions, more interested in controlling through fear and pain a populace than reforming their own incompetent, wasteful and corrupt practices ? Is their intention to destroy every remaining vestige of the human spirit, reducing their populations to quivering, terrified wrecks who will jump to obey any order given by a man in uniform or suffer immediate pain and incapacitation ? This goes way beyond even George Orwell’s terrifying vision of the future.

And why is the reaction of the public so weak against the use of this device ? Have we been so desensitized by continuous images of suffering and violence projected at us by the media twenty-four hours a day that now we accept without question that our institutions may use what amounts to torture devices to “keep us in line” with almost total impunity ?

Maybe if people accept this daily intimidation from the citizens in uniform representing authority it is a sign that forces of evil have overthrown all the positive principles of human society that were fought for by our ancestors for centuries. In the blink of an eye, over very few years, almost “under the radar”, we have returned to the methods of the Spanish Inquisition or the French post-revolutionary “Question”, where merely being accused of a crime was enough to justify debilitating torture and death.

This is a complete travesty of justice, and unless it is stopped, it will only mark the beginning of a new era. Already, microwave devices that fry your skin and sonic machines that overload your perception have been developed for “crowd control”, and are starting to be used. These weapons are a dictator’s dream, and are a sinister sign of the form our societies are taking.

Do you want that ? Are you going to give faceless institutions the right to torture and abuse you, your children, and all future generations, or are you going to stop this now ? Are you going to continue allowing yourselves be treated far, far worse than misbehaving cattle ?

And you, the police using these weapons to inflict extreme pain on your fellow citizens; are you aware that each time you pull that trigger you are nourishing the worst aspects of your being, the parts of you that revel in human suffering and power over the weak ? Are you aware that each time you use this disgusting weapon, you come closer to resembling the most violent, thuggish criminals you are supposed to be protecting society against ? Are you aware that each time you watch a fellow human being writhing on the floor in agony you are physically damaging the parts of your brain that concern empathy, feeling, and the recognition of another person’s distress. In short, you are incrementally turning yourself into the worst kind of psychopath  enemies of any civilized society ? Can you use the excuse that you are “just obeying orders” and look at yourself in the mirror every morning and see anything but a bully and a coward ?

Mussolini himself defined “fascism” as being the “alliance of the corporation and the state”. Look what happened… Governments no longer have more than a cursory appearance of interest in the welfare of the people. This is manifested more and more every passing minute. I am starting to think that western governments want their citizens to fear and hate them in order to justify draconian repression and control. This has happened in the past. It was called Nazism, amongst other things.

It is not too late to change this, but I think it soon will be unless people make a stand for their most basic rights and human dignity.

If too many people continue thinking we do not have a problem – then we have a real problem…

A video of state terror inflicted on the people

David Icke has some funny ideas. I will not condemn him for that. We are all entitled to our ideas, and if they are a bit strange – as long as they do not harm other people – that just adds to the colour of life. At the same time he has a very clear vision of certain aspects of our modern society. The following is a simple video; one of many circulating on the subject of abuse of power by authorities and pain and suffering inflicted on citizens in the so called “civilized” world. The points he makes are very valid, and should be cause for reflection by any person with a modicum of humanity. I’m presuming there are a few left…

Watch this and reflect on the following: What has happened to the “boys in blue” who used to “protect and serve” the people who pay their salaries with their hard-earned taxes ? Why do they wear black nowadays, when black is historically reserved – worldwide and in every culture – for executioners, fascist para-military forces and terror squads ? Is this what they have become ? Draw your own conclusions.

Breaking news: BP Oil gusher has broken the Gulf Stream Loop Current

While the idiots at yahoo news produce an article (from AP) with the utterly misleading headline “BP finally stops oil spewing from gulf gusher”, newly available data processed by CCAR (Colorado Center for Astrodynamics Research) and satellite images (Jason, Topex/Poseidon, GeosatFollow-On, ERS-2, Envisat) reveal that the vital Gulf Stream Loop Current has been destroyed by the huge underwater oil and dispersant plumes  filling the gulf.

The Gulf Stream plays a crucial role in the thermoregulation of our planet and, as I explained in my last post, any change in it’s behaviour can have far reaching consequences for European temperatures and weather systems worldwide.

Truly we are in an era of corporate anarchy, where bungling, self-interested, corrupt governments allow vast multinationals to trample roughshod over human rights, lives, nature – and our future. We hear media blaring on about so called “black block” anarchists burning a few cars during G-20 events – a joke – while anarchist mega-corporations overturn governments (remember the coup in Iran ? CIA & BP fueled – then called the “Anglo-Persian Oil Company – how times have changed…), kill people (Burma,  Nigeria, many more… now the US ?), break international and local laws, buy government favours, wipe out vast quantities of animal life, and while they are at it, destroy our climate and crash vital ocean currents.

When these soulless entities commit a crime or make a mistake that is too terrible to cover up, governments allow them free reign to  investigate and solve the problem themselves while hindering journalists and investigators. The silence of the environmental organisations and NGOs concerning the Gulf disaster has been deafening – BP invests a lot in big environmental groups and has a lot of say in their policies…

In the Gulf of Mexico, after screwing everything else up BP has a last mad plan to seal the sea bed if everything else fails. Ominously called “Project Omega“, it involves using a cutting edge high-tech superweapon. Yes, we are giving these irresponsable psychos powerful nuclear weapons to play with, incredible though it may seem. This device, called an ‘explosively pumped flux compression generator’ (EPFCG) uses a fusion explosion to power a multi-billion ampere shaped electromagnetic pulse. This briefly produces temperatures higher than the surface of the sun with more energy than hundreds of lighting bolts and is supposed to fuse the rock together to seal the oil channels to the surface – that is, if the huge methane reservoir under the gulf doesn’t explode and wipe out the whole region.

It is high time for citizen oversight of any company or governmental activity that endangers humanity and the world we live in. Governments seem incapable of anything except controlling the “little people” – and don’t even do that very well – and multinational corporations have little if any incentive to be ethical. Millions of bloggers and “netizens” would probably be willing to do it for free !

But that’s just me dreaming of a more just and ethical society – you know: that strange thing they tell you in school that everyone is supposed to naturally strive for and work towards achieving.

My prayers are with the unfortunate souls living in the Gulf area.

Gulf of Mexico dossier: The Gulf lie spill and information clean-up operation is making progress. Forget the oil…

Several of my readers have asked for my take on the current Gulf of Mexico mega-disaster, so though I haven’t full access to my usual research resources at the moment, I’ll try to give you a summary of my conclusions about this whole horrible fiasco. I’ve been following it more or less since day one, as I had a very bad feeling from the start – this has been justified, much to my sadness, over the last few weeks. I’ve talked to people in the oil industry and done my usual hunting around the net. I’ll put some links and sources at the end of the article, not throughout the text as I usually do, to make things clearer – there is a lot of info to digest to get a clear picture. I will add links later as time permits, so come back and check for developments over the next days and weeks.

Oil spread in the Gulf

Deep sea drilling into the earth’s crust is a relatively new approach to the acquisition of the black gold that has been used for so long by our financial oligarchy to maintain their stranglehold on mankind’s energy use. Pioneered by Russian energy consortiums, who had little choice on a geo-political level but to find a way to exploit such hazardous sources to maintain their energy independence, western multinationals have been quick to use these new technologies, and the search for access points around the planet for deep oil reserves has accelerated worldwide since the Falklands war. Over the last few years, wells have been opened up around the planet that were previously inaccessible because, quite simply, the technology was just not available to go so deep until recently. The main problem with this, admitted by many oilmen and concerned scientists, is that although the technologies to access the oil have been perfected somewhat, our know-how is totally insufficient when it comes to the security and control of these wells if something goes terribly wrong. The forces at play in the depths of these wells surpass all the capabilities of our current technologies if the need occurs to actually contain them when something goes very wrong and the basic fail-safes, well.. fail ! The pressures are just too high for any human technology to contain once they get out of hand. The Russians have in the past had to resort several times to nuclear weapons to vitrify wellheads of deep wells  that escaped from their control. Luckily for them the wells they were sealing were mostly on dry land in optimal conditions…

Unsurprisingly and despite this,  with full knowledge of the risks, multinational oil companies have decided to “drill, baby, drill” in some of the most unstable areas of the planet  in areas where local conditions – under ice sheets, on the bottom of sea trenches – produce extreme challenges that make recovery almost impossible if a serious hiccup occurs. With the soulless approach pervading multinational corporate practice these days, they have gorged on the profits while ignoring the dangers. Their internal justifications for doing so range from the irrational to the absurd – I have heard oilmen say in front of me “these accidents happen naturally, over time, so if we do one it doesn’t matter in the big scale of things”; Sure thing dude; one of the major past extinctions of life on this planet is attributed to ocean shelf collapses that liberated vast amounts of methane trapped in the crust – something that is happening right now in the Gulf of Mexico. This once beautiful area, filled with an abundance of species that provided delight to visitors and seafood for the US, sits on a rugged sloping sea bed, descending for miles of canyons and underwater mountains that contains huge amounts of crude oil, but also truly immense methane deposits – entire mountains and volcanoes of the stuff – along with layers of radioactive strata and a dangerous cocktail of gases and minerals you probably don’t want to know about. The whole area is a highly unstable honeycomb that even without mankind’s intervention leaks oil and gas through vents in the seabed on a constant basis. So great are the pressures of the deposits under the sea-bed, the stuff works it’s way through vents and channels in the rock and diffuses into the water. Various algae have developed that feed off these leaks, so an equilibrium is maintained in the ocean that prevents the “natural” amounts of leaking crude and gas changing the chemistry of the ocean. The scenario is quite different with a blow-out like the Deepwater Horizon rig’s accident. Here, huge amounts of pressurized oil and methane are firing vertically up through the rock like a laser, eroding a larger amount of the bore hole and underlying seabed every day. The top-kill failure has only served to put momentarily even more pressure on the well and the reservoir, creating huge stresses on the rock surrounding both, allowing pressurised oil and gas to crack it and force channels to open to the surface, some of which will be far from the original well head. The pressures are so massive – 600 pounds per square inch and up (some people talk of pressures up to 70,000 psi) – that absolutely nothing short of divine intervention will stop it. No human technology can deal with this.

How is BP “damage controlling” the situation ? They have made little attempt to clean the oil – they are recovering as much as they can over the drill site, but are mainly intent on hiding the amount of oil that has already escaped by using extremely toxic chemical dispersants. In fact the one they use the most – the infamous Corexit – is banned in most places because it is a known neuro-toxin that is lethal to all life in concentrations just over 2 parts per million. Since they have dumped many millions of tons of this disgusting stuff on the – already highly toxic – crude oil to force it down into deep water away from prying cameras, they have only contributed to make a huge toxic soup where nothing can survive except for petroleum-eating bacteria that also consume all the surrounding oxygen. So each of these “underwater oil plumes” the scientists are worried about is in effect a huge underwater anaerobic toxic death-cloud, slowly being dragged by underwater currents towards the atlantic and the gulf stream, killing absolutely everything in their path. Numerous sailors and fishermen have fallen violently sick just sailing over these plumes. Most haven’t recovered weeks later. Shoreline communities all around the gulf are in danger from toxic emanations from these poisonous substances. Children and adults are succumbing to rashes, respiratory ailments, and other complications that will get more serious as time goes by unless they evacuate the coast. There are reports of oil in the rain inland – and the rain smells very unpleasant – hardly surprising, really…

Meanwhile BP has apparently recently decided to stop their cleaning operations and only wheel out their clean-up crews for photo shoots and official visits. Presumably they don’t see the point in cleaning up because they can not seal the well, so more and more oil will hit the coastlines and invade the seas anyway for years to come. They have allegedly decided to cut costs and only spend on “public perception management” and oil recuperation over the well. Few journalists have been allowed in the area, the airspace is now mainly a “no fly zone” apart for BP’s aircraft and a few government planes, and the police are arresting anyone they intercept turning up on the coast with a camera. All their local personnel and clean up crews have been told that if they pass on any information to the public they will be immediately fired. They have even told clean-up crews not to use their respirators the few times journalists have been around so as not to scare the public about the toxicity of their mess. Workers protesting this are fired too… There is currently such a feeling of depression amongst local inhabitants, fishermen and clean-up workers several have already committed suicide. They are seeing unfold in front of their eyes something the rest of the world is barely noticing: the worst ecological disaster in the history of mankind. They are not seeing any attempt to alleviate the worst or help them at all. Money has been promised – but what does that mean compared to an utterly destroyed coastline and eco-system genocide ? Meanwhile on the net, BP has bought the top positions on most search engines to redirect concerned people to sites they control so they can continue with their “perception management”. Mainstream press have been rapidly stifled, so as usual most people not willing to hunt for the information themselves have no idea of the real gravity of the situation.

So what are the best case/worse case scenarios ? Well, from what I can glean from the net, and the conversations I’ve had on and offline with oil industry people and others who know a lot more about this than I do, unfortunately there is no best case scenario. It’s far too late. If the top kill had worked maybe the well could have been sealed. It didn’t, and just weakened the well and reservoir’s links to the sea bed making the situation worse. While the US government and BP pointed fingers and postured in front of the cameras all this has got totally out of hand. On the deep sea robot’s cameras (several robots are around the remains of the BOP and patrolling the area providing live feeds) oil and gas is visibly spilling from cracks hundreds of feet from the well. A couple of days ago a robot even got knocked out by a new jet of oil spurting from a crevice – I don’t think they’ve even managed to recover the robot yet. According to an airman flying oil-reconaissance missions over the gulf, 40% of the sea floor is covered in oil. This volcano of crude and methane can not be stopped. All the talk about far fetched solutions is rubbish so far – the pressure relief wells will not work either – too late –  and as for the bright guys who propose nuking the well-head… they are nuts ! Nuking an area so rich in methane deposits, radioactives, and honeycombed with caverns full of pressurized oil ? No one has ever done such a thing in such hostile conditions on the sea floor. The consequences could be of biblical proportions. On the other hand screwing up with a nuke would get BP off the hook so maybe it’ll be tried…

So in this case what are the worse-case scenarios ? Well, unfortunately, they are all very, very bad – in fact positively doom-laden. There are so many things that can turn this into an even more catastrophic situation. Hopefully none of the following will occur:

– One huge problem is the escaping methane; for every barrel of oil escaping into the gulf, 30 barrels of methane are leaking into the water and creating “methane hydrates”. According to the latest oceanographic research conducted in the Gulf, methane levels in the water are already at a million times normal background levels in a substantial part of the gulf. Other scientists are saying there is a 20 km wide methane bubble under the gulf. Apart from the huge problems caused to shipping – ships can not float if methane concentrations in the water reach a critical level; they sink. If the methane concentrations get high enough, enough methane will have been released from the rock to reduce pressure, and allow sea water to pour into the extremely hot strata underlying the gulf, producing instant evaporation and an underwater explosion the likes of which we have never seen. This will produce a two-hundred foot tsunami moving at up to six hundred miles an hour – an apocalyptic scenario for all the areas surrounding the gulf. Somehow I find this scenario less realistic than the following ones. According to some Russian scientists, the deep channel pumping oil into the seabed could flow forever in which case it is highly unlikely there will be any “pressure equalisation”… Let’s hope so !

– Another problem is the huge underwater masses of oil and deadly chemicals slowly floating into the atlantic and – heaven forbid – the gulf stream. If, over time, enough oil and chemicals mix into the gulf stream, no one really knows what will happen. If the chemical composition of the gulf stream changes, or it’s flow speed is reduced by massive quantities of underwater crude, the climate could be affected. Since the gulf stream is responsible for heating large parts of Europe, the results could be catastrophic for the whole continent. And people thought last winter was bad. The Gulf stream also influences atmospheric currents, so the consequences could be global.

– An almost opposite scenario could occur over the long term. When enough methane converts from methane hydrates to gas, this will force millions of tons a day  – remember, the well is releasing thirty times more methane than oil – of methane into our long-suffering atmosphere. Methane is a greenhouse gas with far stronger effects than CO2. So after the freeze, things might get a little hot for a while. Of course, BP stands to gain from this, being one of the biggest players in the AGW economy that has been built over the last few years. A very likely scenario concerning the gasses in the short term would be the formation of clouds of the stuff, probably mixed with other gasses, that could float around causing poisoning and death wherever they pass. If enough gas continues leaking, these death clouds could move around the planet for years. Huge quantities of nasty gases like benzene are already being detected inland around the gulf.

Now for some more anecdotal esoteric connections: William Gibson, the creator of the cyberpunk genre of fiction, was recruited years ago by the Pentagon as an advisory consultant because the terrible vision he portrays in his books – of a future where mega-corporations rule the devastated wastelands of the earth while the poor and outcast remnants of humanity huddle at the base of the corporate strongholds – this fitted in well with the Pentagon’s vision of the future, apparently. In his books, huge catastrophies are visited on the population of “little people” regularly to ensure their dependance on corporate technologies for their very survival. In such conditions, antiquated concepts as “freedom” or “democracy” have no place. Buy – or die…

Another interesting, rather spooky coincidence: A writer called Gustav Meyrink in 1903 wrote a book called “Petroleum, Petroleum !“, where an evil chemical magnate decides to express his hate for the “useless eaters” of humanity by breaking the oil reserves in the gulf of Mexico open in order to flood the oceans of the world in oil. The result is oil covering the water of the planet within a few years, breaking the planetary rainfall mechanisms and killing most ocean and continental life. All coasts are rendered uninhabitable, and most humans die of starvation… The spooky part is the author insists in 1903 that the story is a prophecy, not a work of fiction ! The author also owned his own banking house and was a well known cabalist. Food for thought…

Ancient traditions across the planet have always insisted there are “doors that are best left unopened”. The Oil industry has just opened a portal straight to Hell.

The only sensible action open to any aware human is to campaign for a ban on all under sea and under ice deep oil wells immediately. All existing wells must be sealed now. The fate of humanity could be in the balance. I think this could effect the planet to such an extent that in the future we will be talking of a pre-Gulf and post Gulf world.

Keep tuned – I’ll do my best to post any important stuff I come across. Pray the worst consequences are somehow avoided. All inhabitants on the coasts surrounding the Gulf should evacuate, whatever else is done.

An excellent article on the global political awakening of the “little people” and the fear this provokes in the international financial elite

The California-based Center for Research on Globalisation has really taken off over the last few years. I’ve been following them since their beginning, and the quality of their articles and analysis has increased constantly. If anyone still doubts that there is a “global political awakening” then read the following article:

http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=viewArticle&code=MAR20100624&articleId=19873

There is a war on between the controllers and the controlled, and more and more of the latter are realising this. The financial oligarchy are going to find their hands full over the next months and years. My guess is enough information will emerge into the mainstream to reveal these pillaging psychopaths as they truly are to an increasing number of their victims, which will create an unstoppable momentum for defeating their projects. Already the flow of whistleblowing and corruption investigations is becoming an unstoppable torrent crossing all frontiers and penetrating every institution on the planet.

Fiat lux !

The new Priesthood: subsidised experts

At least since the Babylonian mystery schools, the length of human history is rife with examples of organised religions and their priesthoods collaborating closely with rulers for the organisation and control of a social consensus amongst the people, in order to corral them into viewpoints that would maintain the status quo, keep them working hard for a pittance and remove or stigmatise any desire for dissent, rebellion against more privileged classes or even improving their lot in life. These religious institutions would happily do so in exchange for a respected position in the state and social heirarchy, the right to tax a percentage of the people’s livelihood, and own their own land upon which they would build special awe-inspiring buildings. These religious institutions were characterised by large numbers of devout, well-meaning workers who would try their best to reconcile the interpretation of their dogma with the politics and aims of their superiors and the common-sense of the people they were “spiritually guiding”. Over time this was perfected so much that both the priests and their flocks would develop mental automatisms to reconfigure “on the fly” information recieved from just about any source so it would fit in with their beliefs. The opposite rarely occured, as any ideas contrary to the current interpretation of dogma would be strongly – often violently – resisted,  thus encouraging a very robust form of “socio-political correctness”. This has kept many countries in a stranglehold for large parts of their history, stifling creativity, innovation and progress. At the worst, it has led to crusades, inquisitions or Jihads responsible for the deaths of many, many innocents.

Over the last couple of centuries organised religions have taken considerable hits on their credibility and lost a lot of their previous influence on the beliefs of many peoples around the globe. This has resulted in a void waiting to be filled. By it’s very nature, power in any form cannot exist unless supported by subsidiary groups that execute it’s agendas and provide public demonstrations to prove to the people how essential their masters are for continued existence, comfort and security.

So for many people, the evolution of scientific discovery has eroded their belief in strange gods, cults and superstitions, and they have turned their attention away from priests and scriptures, towards scientists, researchers and their institutions, hoping that these people would reveal the secrets of reality and contribute to the common good through their careful and painstaking work. The structures of contemporary power having changed, shifting from the leadership of geographicaly limited areas by small groups of people to widely dispersed political and financial trans-national entities that can formulate policy for entire continents, or own the finances of entire sectors of the economy woldwide, results in much greater opportunities, money, and influence for organisations or people of any stripe that put themselves under their protective wing in exchange for aligning their own goals with the objectives of their masters. It seems unfortunately that many scientists have been attracted by the same material things that seduced religious institutions into working so closely with power before, and in many areas are now perfoming the same functions of coralling wiewpoints, creating consensus aligned with political expediency, stigmatising dissent, and creating dogmas to justify the policies of their masters. In exchange they are provided with status, land on which to build awe-inspiring buildings, ressources, and a portion of the people’s taxes, doled out in many forms (grants, subsidies, etc…). Notice the similarities with the priesthoods of old ?

A good current example of this can be seen in the current WHO scandal involving corruption and fraud, where numerous scientists are being investigated because of funds recieved from big pharma companies that would have (and have had) an immense direct financial gain if a pandemic was declared. The power structure in question – the private curiously named World Health Organization – has attained after years of effort the capacity to force hundreds of countries around the world to act in concert if certain health criteria – defined by itself of course – were met. In this case, the “priesthood” were so keen on helping their contributors, they actually changed the definition of a “pandemic” to be able to classify the swine-flu outbreaks under this heading, thus allowing them to legally force countries around the world to spend huge fortunes on enacting a series of national emergency preparations, including buying billions of dollars worth of badly tested and largely ineffective vaccines produced by companies that both directly and indirectly keep the WHO and it’s initiates supplied with financing.

Here is an excellent summary of the current pseudo-pandemic rout by people who are good at “following the money”

http://www.financialsense.com/editorials/engdahl/2010/0111.html

Another good example of the same trend is shown with the “climategate” scandal, where it seems the IPCC top dogs were willing to go to any length, including falsifying data, obstructing scientific debate, designing biased computer models and fraudulent graphs, in a most unscientific attempt to convince everyone about their beliefs and destroy any other viewpoints. Whether global warming is happening or not, this kind of behaviour completely opposes so many principles that “good science” is based on, it is not suprising they have blasted their credibility for many people ! I am sure they would have never gone to such risky lengths if they were not closely entwined with a giant financial network that stands to gain billions through the implementation of the new carbon economy all over the world. I have noticed that alongside the global financial mess, many powerful groups are transforming themselves into vectors of the “green economy” in order to continue raking in millions while wearing a “holier than thou” cloth and pretending to be selfless saviours of humanity. Maybe they are hoping to avoid the grizzly fate that might be awaiting their banker brethren if a majority becomes aware of the depths of larceny (er, stealing many times over the value of the world’s economy in less than a century…) they have sunk to.

Somehow the carbon credit system reminds me of Church “Indulgencies” sold so rich sinners could buy their way back into paradise….

For an overview of some the companies desperately fighting for the moral high ground while making a buck  try the IETA site.

As an end note: In the same way medaeval town criers would never shout out news going against the will of the monarch or the local religion – or be out of a job pretty quick – contemporary media seem to toe the line or simply not report the most important facts when “informing” people about both international power structures or the groups that serve them, unless someone involved has screwed up so massively that there is no way they can avoid it. Even then there are numerous methods to distort truth, misdirect public questioning, produce absurd theories to discredit serious information or whitewash sensitive material. When the news they carry is produced by especially credible/powerful organisations, they have even less reason to do anything but parrot what they have been told. Real, no-holds barred investigative journalism seems to be relegated to the web these days.

Expect more encyclicals from the new priesthoods soon – and maybe an “ordo inquisitoris” will be knocking on your door soon to check your green lightbulbs (you know: the bulbs responsible for thousands of mercury poisoning deaths and the ruining of an entire water table in China under the factories producing them…)

Luckily, burning at the stake is not very carbon friendly in this neo-feudal world ! They will have to find something else…

Bailout money spent on cluster bombs – EU taxes spent on “golden shower”

I thought I would have a quick look around at the innovative ways our government “leaders” and international financiers were finding to invest all the money we have given them to sort out our many woes. So what notable items have hit the press in the last week or so ?

Let’s start with all that bailout money… You know, in Europe the three trillion Euros that were given to banks over the last couple of years that were supposed to stimulate loans, etc… to restart the economy. Well, not only have banks refrained from making loans more accessible to the little people – quite the contrary in fact – they have used most of the bailout money to buy other weaker banks, thus consolidating power across the whole financial sector, giving them even more powerful monopolies to exploit more effectively the rest of us. Vast sums have been spent on buying real estate and businesses at rock-bottom recession prices all over Europe and the US. Huge assets and ressources have changed hands the world over and are owned by a smaller and smaller group of oligarchs, while, as usual, the people at the bottom of the social scale are left with barely the shirts on their backs.

Just to add insult to injury – and later injury to insult – the world’s biggest banks have just loaned 20 billion to weapons manufacturers to build cluster bombs ! These horrendous weapons are in the process of being banned because they result in the deaths of far more women and children than enemy soldiers, due to their propensity to lie around waiting to be stepped on for decades after being dropped – they are extensively used by all of our “peacemongering” powers because not only do they slaughter “soft targets” when dropped, they also act as a minefield until cleared through a lengthy and dangerous process. They cause many infant deaths and disabilities because they look like pretty colourful ping-pong balls, so kids pick them up, usually losing at least an arm in the process. Soon to be used in a neighbourhood near you…

According to this Oxfam report, irresponsible arms sales are so prevalent and destructive to developing countries that the result is them not attaining their development goals, thus staying in absolute poverty and continuing to be a burden on the international community.

More absolute proof that these entities will in no way help humanity evolve towards a civilised and advanced civilisation, from it’s current thinly disguised feudal state, as long as they can make billions from death, suffering and control.

We are currently told that by installing vast bureaucracies in the US and Europe will be the cure-all for all our problems, that the vast sums of money amassed by these institutions allow them to act on the macro-scale for the benefit of all, and keep the banks in line while they are at it. Unfortunately the numbers seem to contradict them very regularly. The EU for example, that from the very beginning has used vast amounts of tax payer’s money to promote it’s own existance (illegal for a political party in any country, but the EU is above the law, because now it IS the law !) seems to have a history of squandering public funds. Take, for example the latest scandal in France, where a previous president is up for massive corruption as a backdrop, and the current “Emperor Sarko” has just been caught wasting millions of EU funds, including 250,000 pounds sterling on a “presidential shower” he never even used…

How can anyone believe for one minute that these soulless, self-serving parasites can help us at all ? The world is in need of societal and economic change of an extreme nature in order to avoid a new Dark Ages and neo-feudalism that these organisations are all pushing us into with gleeful enthusiam.

The simplest solutions (that will not be implemented of course by them) to keep these modern day ogres in check:

– Create a “citizen oversight” body – including a training structure – with a pool of anonymous auditors allocated randomly to ALL the different organisms, banks, NGO’s etc and regularly rotated to avoid corruption. Fully using internet and database technology, such a body could be set up very fast. Many jobs would be created as a side effect…

– Introduce a global “ethics tax” (everything else is taxed – why is a Tobin tax resisted so adamantly ?). Simply put, when the oversight body determines a bank loan is being given for destructive reasons (armament, etc…) it should incur a massive tax, to compensate the destruction of ressources, society and progress. In a similar way, projects that are determined to be totaly positive for humanity should receive tax breaks and even subsidies or free credit – payed for by the previous tax.

The result would be a reversal of the current ethics of money. Benefitting mankind and the planet would be rewarded and lead to huge profits. Death and destruction could still be meeted out by those that revel in it, but it would be a hell of a lot harder for the psychopaths to generate a profit from their fun !

So voila ! Don’t let anyone tell me that the solutions to most of our global problems are not simple and cheap – it is the will to apply them for the benefit of the general public that is totaly lacking.

Our current economic system is so destructive, costly in human and environmental terms, and downright evil, we can hardly do worse !

Hence my call to start a global peaceful insurgency movement to pressure the big boys into doing something benevolent for a change – if they are actually capable of it – something I’m starting to doubt. Otherwise they’ll have to go…
